Junebug will be published!!

We received a letter the other day from the Young Poets Collection, and Junebug's poem that she wrote, will be published in the Young Poets Collection book next year. Here is the poem that she wrote:

The Tiger

Tiger has a tail

He can also fail

It can climb rocks

It can see a dock

It can roar

And it can snore

Happy Thanksgiving Weekend!!!

Well, our thanksgiving plans to go home to G&G bugs house for the holiday were spoiled with colds. So we stayed home and made our own turkey feast and watched movies. I hope that you and your family had a great Thanksgiving. Here are some pictures of Junebug preparing the Turkey and our Stinkbug getting in the spirit of the holiday with his Indian hat and hanging out with his scarecrow friends.

CMA awards

As Junebug and I sit here tonight watching the CMA awards, I am amazed at her as she is only 7 years old, but she knows the majority of all the singers on this show tonight and can name songs that they sing. It is amazing the influence of her friends, the Internet and CMT can make an impact on her life. She is a huge Taylor Swift fan. I think at her age I probably knew two songs, and they were "Elvira" and "Country Roads Take Me Home." She knows so many of the songs and who sings them. That is a knack I do not have. If I hear a song, I can tell you if I have heard it before, but more than likely I can not tell you who sings it or what the title of the song is. So maybe with Junebug's music knowledge, I will learn something. Well better sign off, Taylor Swift is coming on and I get to listen to Junebug sing with her.

Home Sick

Stinkbug joined me at home today, yesterday I took him to clinic fully expecting to come out of there with a boy with ear infection. What I took out of the clinic is a little boy with strep throat. So the house that I thought I would get cleaned today, looks even worse, thanks to the help of stinkbug. Though the doctor says he's sick, he must of forgot to tell Stinkbug, because he sure is not acting sick. Here is a picture of him in his favorite chair, chill'n! Move over Papabug there is another man in the house.

Happy November 1

I have been slacking in the blogging department, I have not been home the last two weekends due to a funeral one weekend and a wedding the next weekend, and when I am not home on the weekends, it throws my whole week off. So here are some pictures from the last week... I hope you enjoy.

Junebug makes me laugh...

Looking through some pictures of myself when I was little, Junebug was simply in awe when she saw a picture of her Grandma, taken 30 years ago.
Her comment was "Wow, Mom did you know that Grandma used to have brown hair?" She has only known my mom with grey hair...(if you ask her, it's silver! NOT GREY!!!)

The other night Papabug had an auction, after the auction he had a beer or two, after he got home, we were all getting ready for bed, and I asked him if he had a beer after his auction? Junebug overhearing my question, jumped right in and said "Yes he did mom, I can smell a drunk anywhere!"

Grocery shopping with Junebug today, her and I were walking through the store, when she looked at me and said, "Mom, please make healthy choices!" and then she turned around and wanted to know if we could get some Oreo's?

Picking Pumpkins

These pictures were taken last weekend, as we enjoyed the nice weather. This weekend we spent in the house, staying warm and dry. Thank you Aunt A and Uncle B, for the pumpkins!

Papa Bug did a great job!

The barn needed painted, so off to the city we went to buy paint for the old barn. While in the city papa bug decided to look at paint sprayers, and then decided to buy one. What a great purchase this was, in less than two days the old barn looked new again.

Surprises

Last week was my birthday, and what a surprise I received flowers at work from a friend that I have just recently come into contact again after 17 years. I am so excited to be back in touch with an old friend. It brings back so many good memories, from years ago!

Coronation Homecoming 2008

Here she is the crown bearer for homecoming 2008. The night was a success. Except if you ask her, it was horrible because she had to wear a dress, and she doesn't like wearing dresses because she is a Tomboy!!! Also I want to note, before Grandma Ladybug comments on the curl that hangs in her face, there is a reason, you see.... she spent the night at her friends house this weekend for a birthday party, her and 4 other boys and they were getting a little wild, which then ended up with Junebug getting a 3 inch scratch on her upper cheek and temple area. So Grandma Ladybug, this time there was a good reason her hair is in her face.

We finally have a wii!!

We finally got a wii, wahoo! We ave been looking for one high and low since before Christmas last year. Junebug, has played one at her friends house, and other places. Papabug has even got into playing it with her. I am so excited for this, I know it will provide many hours of entertainment for our family!

Love, Joy and Courage

When talking to Junebug the other day, we were talking about how great family is, and I asked her what do you think makes a great family? and she said... "Love, Joy and Courage," I told her that was a great answer and after pondering it more, I realized it was a perfect answer. A family that loves each other and has joy and even more importantly a family that has the courage to face the many obstacles that are put in it's way, and accept each others imperfections really does truly make a great family.

Isn't amazing how little kids can make you feel all warm and fuzzy on the inside, and all they have to do is smile at you. Here is some pictures of Stinkbug giving some love to

Formal Gown Shopping

When I grew up there were the prom and homecoming queens in our school, and their status was always the popular group. I was not in the popular group, in fact I don't think I had a group. I got along with most people just did not fit in a particular group per say. So what a surprise and a new ground that I am walking, when we received a note sent home on Thursday stating that Junebug had been selected by the Junior class to be a homecoming attendant. Her and another little boy in her class will be walking with the selected high school attendants during coronation, and then get the honor of presenting the Homecoming Royalty their ti era and crown.

So off to the city we went to find her a formal gown. She put on a couple and then we found this one, and she put it on and look in the mirror and said "oh, mom, it looks like I am going to prom!" I had her try on several others, but nothing compared to this one.

On Monday, September 29th she will get her hair and nails done (a perk for being selected) and she will put on her formal and perform her duties as an attendant, so watch for more on this.....

Stinkbug gets put to work

It is pretty tough being 17 months old. Stinkbug has to help his dad mow and every evening gets the stinky job of having to take off his Dad's boots.

Watch out, here comes the next basketball stars

Shooting some hoops after school and daycare and enjoying the weather. I think we need to invest in another basketball, since once again stinkbug wants to be doing everything that Junebug is doing. The one good thing is, that Stinkbug's attention span is not very long.

I can do what ever my sister can do.....

Junebug is 7 and Stinkbug is 17 months, he thinks most of the time that he can and that he is entitled to do whatever his big sister does. He is going to have a long next 17 years. Sometimes like in this video it just makes us laugh. If you watch really close you will notice one of them is playing the recorder one is just screeching.

Ring around the Rosy, again and again and again

Today I am thankful for Junebug, because after we taught Stinkbug how to play Ring around the Rosy, well it was fun the first 20 times after that the only ones that were still finding it fun were Junebug and Stinkbug and up and down they would go, laughing each time they fell. Stinkbug would get back up and grab Junebug's hand and they would be off again. Needless to say our house was full of laughter and singing.

Labor Day Weekend Fun!!

We had a grand time this weekend, Aunt Pretty Fish came to visit and she brought her roommate with her. Though they left us to go and hang out with the Cowboy, and meet up with friends from the summer. They were in and out to make our weekend a little more enjoyable. Junebug and Stinkbug WERE so excited to have pretty fish back for a couple of days, as they tackled her in the morning, when they first saw her!
